CONNECTIVITY

In general terms, connectivity is the ability to connect systems or application programs. Ideally, these connections are established without requiring many changes to the applications or the systems on which they run.
Multiprotocol Label Switching WAN

MPLS VPN Wide Area Networks is geographically scattered. The enterprise WAN itself consists of business site that must be interconnected to enable business. This is a collection of telecommunication networks that are distributed across a large geographic area spanning multiple cities, territories, or nations so that these networks can exchange data within the defined group.

Timeless Technology provides this service through the Multiprotocol Label Switching, (MPLS) technology. Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a mechanism in high-performance telecommunication networks that directs data from one network node to the next based on short path labels rather than long network addresses, avoiding complex lookups in a routing table. It is a mechanism used to transfer data across large networks. Each packet entering an MPLS network is labelled with a locally significant MPLS label. As the packet passes through the MPLS network, label is replaced with another label or stripped off.

The network distributes information so that each switch knows what it is supposed to do if it encounters a particular label by simply looking up the MPLS table. Thus, the router functionality is reduced to switch functionality, speeding up the data transfer significantly.
Point-to-point WAN

In a Point-to-Point WAN environment, two Local Area Networks or end nodes are connected through a dedicated and secure line. Modern enterprises also use this type of WAN to enable secure and customized network performance between two locations. Each of the two end nodes is further connected to multiple devices to create a local area network.

A Point to Point Connection is a private data connection securely connecting two or more locations for private data services. This is a closed data transport service which does not traverse the public Internet and is inherently secure with no data encryption needed.

A point to point connection provides unparalleled quality of service (QoS) as it is a private line and follows the same direct network path every time. These Circuits are used by businesses to provide reliable, secure data service for applications including credit card processing, file sharing, data backup, VOIP, and video conferencing.

Local Area Network (LAN) connects network devices in such a way that personal computers and workstations can share data, tools, and programs. A group of computers and devices are connected together by a switch, or stack of switches, using a private addressing scheme as defined by the TCP/IP protocol. Private addresses are unique in relation to other computers on the local network. Routers are found at the boundary of a LAN, connecting them to the larger WAN.

Data transmits at a very fast rate as the number of computers linked is limited. LANs cover a smaller geographical area and are privately owned. One can use it for an office building, home, hospital or school. LAN is easy to design and maintain because it covers a short distance, so the error and noise are minimized.

The LAN can be made up of cabling from one room or building to the next. It can also be wireless in which access points are used to distribute signal to nearby devices to connect wirelessly or it could be a hybrid of cabling and wireless. Whatever design you prefer for your organisation, talk to use and will assist you accordingly.
